Variety is reporting that Universal Pictures is once again trying to turn the key on a Spy Hunter film, this time with veteran game-to-movie filmmaker Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat) set to co-write and direct. Whether or not Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson--previously attached to play the film's protagonist--will remain attached to the project is undetermined. Johnson previously appeared in Midway's Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run for the Xbox and PlayStation 2, a game that had been intended to tie into the movie before Universal's production hit delays.
